Induction Furnace

An Induction furnace is an electrical furnace in which the heat is generated through electro-magnetic induction in an electrically conductive medium (usually a metal).  The furnace necessarily comprises of a water-cooled copper coil, which when energized with AC power source, develops electromagnetic field around it.  Any metal charge kept inside the coil (usually called Furnace Coil) will be subjected to electromagnetic induction which causes eddy current to be generated in the charge, which in turn, causes huge amount of heat to be generated in the charge depending on its resistivity.

 The major advantage of induction furnace is that, it offers a clean, energy-efficient and well-controlled melting process.  Moreover, as it does not involve any kind of fuel, the pollution hazards are minimal.  Now a days more and more iron foundries are replacing cupola furnace with induction furnace.

  Induction Furnace

Induction furnace are widely used in steel industries, from small foundries using 50 kg.  capacity furnace or below up to large billet producing steel melting shops using 30 Ton capacity furnace or even more.

 Induction furnace are made over a wide of range of medium frequency, usually from 500 c/s to 10000 c/s.  The amount of heat generated is directly proportional to the frequency, but the depth of penetration of heat is inversely proportional to the frequency.  Hence smaller capacity furnace generally use higher frequency and bigger capacity lower frequency.  In earlier days Induction Furnace were made at 50 c/s only (mains frequency furnace).  But these have been outdated and taken over by medium frequency furnace.

About Indotherm

Induction Furnaces Manufacturer

We are leading manufacturers of Induction Furnace in India. We also manufactures various kinds of control panels. Indotherm has supplied its Induction Furnace to almost all parts of India. Besides, it has exported a very large number of Induction Furnace to the neighbouring country of Bangladesh. A big fraction of Indotherm's turn-over is owned to exports.

Indotherm has a vary unique reputation of minimal failure and breakdown in its Furnace. As a result, Indotherm can solemnly stand by its commitment of free replacement of any component, part or equipment failed during the guarantee period, without any hidden clause or condition.

Factory   Products
  Indotherm manufactures Induction Furnace at Howrah in own factory which is adjacent to Kolkata. The factory is barely 20 minutes drive from the heart of Kolkata. Induction Furnace manufacturing process involves the latest state-of-the-art technology. There are three distinct sections in the factory. First the mechanical section, secondly, the electrical section and thirdly, the electronic section……..
  • 50 kg to 25000kg holding capacity (Steel);
  • 50 KW to 8500 KW solid state power;
  • 250 Hz to 10000Hz frequency choice;

Besides Induction Furnaces, Indotherm manufactures a wide range of Control Panels like MCC, PCC, Relay Panel, Control Desk and other tailor-maid Control Panels. ..........
